Ryan Edmonds, President
Ryan is a second-year student at Osgoode Hall Law School. Ryan has a strong interest in workplace law, having worked for over three years at an employment law boutique in downtown Toronto. In addition to serving as President of the Labour & Employment Society, Ryan is a Dean’s Fellow for Civil Procedure, and is also an organizer and incorporating director of Out on Bay Street, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting access to business professions for LGBT students. Ryan is a big fan of combat sports, and in his spare time enjoys cooking and yoga. Ryan earned an Honours B.A. from the University of Waterloo where he was the gold medalist in Philosophy, and is also a graduate of Ryerson’s continuing education program in Human Resources Management. Melissa Fedsin, Vice President
Melissa is a third-year law student at Osgoode Hall Law School, focusing her courses in the Labour and Employment Law stream. Before law school, she graduated with an Honours Business degree, specializing in Human Resource Management. Melissa also interned with the Christian Labour Association of Canada. She continues to volunteer at the Osgoode Legal Aid clinic (CLASP) and work part-time with special needs youth. E-mail Melissa
Corinna Traill, VP Finance
Corinna is a second-year student at Osgoode Hall Law School. Hailing from Bowmanville, Ontario, a small, blue collar community with strong ties to the labour movement, she has long been interested in labour relations and she is pursuing the Labour and Employment Law Stream at Osgoode. Having graduated summa cum laude in Greek and Latin from the University of Toronto, Corinna spent six weeks conducting postgraduate study at the American Academy of Rome Classical Summer School and remains keenly interested in Latin history and literature as she pursues her legal education. Her other interests include playing the piano, golfing, skiing and karate, and she is an avid auto-racing and hockey fan. E-mail Corinna
Rebecca Zaretsky, VP Professional Development
Rebecca is in her second year at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to law school, Rebecca earned a B.A. in Kinesiology and a Certificate in Writing from the University of Western Ontario. After her first year of law school, Rebecca spent part of the summer working at a boutique law firm specializing in medical malpractice and part of the summer on exchange in Israel. Rebecca is looking forward to contributing to the Labour and Employment Law Society in this new role. Samantha Scott, VP Communications
Samantha is a third-year student at Osgoode Hall Law School. Before law school Samantha studied Law and Society at York University and worked for a distinguished Canadian constitutional litigator. While at Osgoode Samantha has enjoyed working with several student organizations, including Pro Bono Students Canada and CLASP. Samantha sits on the executive of JustLaw, an organization for students with an interest in social justice, and spent her second year working at Osgoode’s student legal aid clinic. After law school Samantha looks forward to articling with a union-side labour firm and the legal department of a large private sector union. Katia Diab
Katia is a second year student at Osgoode Hall Law School with a keen interest in issues regarding labour and employment law. Prior to attending law school, Katia earned her B.A. from the University of Toronto specializing in Political Science and History; she also earned her M.A. in Political Studies from Queens University with an emphasis on International Relations. Upon completing her first year of law school, Katia spent part of her summer volunteering with the Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA), which sparked a deeper interest in client advocacy. Katia has also volunteered for Osgoode’s Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF). E-mail Katia
